Instead of completely disabling IPv6, since Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and their corresponding Server OS'es prefer IPv6, instead, if you are really itching to disable IPv6, set the policy/registry, to Prefer IPv4 over IPv6.
Apparently Windows Server 2008 R2 is installed with IPv6 on by default. We would like to uninstall it or totally disable it. I have unchecked the check boxes that link IPv6 to each network adapter in my servers, but the machines still register IPv6 addresses with the DNS server.

Re: IPv6 Turn it OFF!!! It's for internet connection only, on LAN it doesn't disable IPv6. Also without IPv6 on LAN Windows SMB couldn't work began from Windows 7. Disabling ipv6 on Server 2016 - Windows Server - Spiceworks
